Changing Lanes

Last May, I took the decision to quit communications, media, journalism and media education - part of my life for the last 20 years. It seemed like a mammoth decision and saying 'no' to scores of high-prestige jobs felt as if I was missing out on something 'big'. But, one year later, having spent time reading literature from around the world, academics and research in design, conservation, security and peace building, I feel the decision was well-timed. The need for approval, likes and ratings no longer exists. My observation skills have improved threefold and I listen more than I talk, which is a blessing to many 😊 #changinglanes
