My review:

Written from the point of view of a child growing up in Iran in the 1970s, Persian Nights showcases how much parents shield their kids even when circumstances become unbearable. Black-and-white illustrations and relatable to anyone who has spent a few years in an alien land, to have made a home there and to have to leave it without ever planning to do so, this book is a must-read for kids and adults, especially if like me, you are fascinated by anything Persian.
