Reagan has to run to the grocery before it closes at 11am but on his way out the smell of fresh French toast makes him stop in his tracks. His mother used to make them exactly the way his elderly neighbour is cooking them. She offers him some but he needs to head out before the shops close. There's little traffic on the streets of Mumbai, signs of life, in a city destroyed by the Covid19 pandemic.
