Flashback July 2013: On my first trip to Australia, Dev, my cousin, told me it's the most expensive country in the world and, "You get nothing for free." Well, that was a challenge for me. So on my first day in Sydney, I got a free drink of Coke because I am a woman, a free ride on the train because I was going to an Expo, free tapas and wine because I was the only woman representing an Indian company at a Ministry event and a free cab ride home courtesy the Peruvian ambassador to Australia who we met at that particular event. 😁 When I told Dev, he shouted, "I have been here for nine years and I have had nothing for free!" 😂
